Federal government on Saturday decided not to appoint 'NRO-beneficiary' officials on key posts in future. The Prime Minister Secretariat has directed the Establishment Division to furnish a complete list of all those NRO beneficiaries who are presently appointed on various government positions.
It further directed that the requisite information should be submitted on priority basis within two days. The decision was taken in the wake of situation created after the appointment of Adnan Khwaja as Chairman OGDCL. Gilani had to take back the notification of Khwaja's appointment after the Supreme Court's suo motu notice. According to sources, federal ministers argued with the top brass on this issue in a meeting at President House on Friday.
