A Canadian man who admitted helping make the bomb that destroyed Air India Flight 182 was found guilty on Saturday of perjury during the trial of two other men accused of history's deadliest airline bombing. A jury in Vancouver convicted Inderjit Singh Reyat of allegations he lied when he testified in court that he while he helped make the bomb that killed 329 people in 1985, he knew nothing more about the bomb plot.
Canadian and Indian police have long alleged the bombing was done by Sikh extremists living in western Canada as revenge on India for its storming of Sikhism's Golden Temple in Amritsar in 1984. Reyat had been called as a witness in 2003 the trial of two other men accused of the bombing, after he himself had pleaded guilty to reduced charges in the case.
