Vice President, SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Iftikar Ali Malik has expressed concern over every day increasing cost of manufacturing which has serious negative impact on export oriented industry. He urged the government to reduce mark-up rate, power and gas tariffs to give berating space to export oriented industry. He said reduction in cost of manufacturing will have a good impact on industry and the country can compete in international market.
He said Pakistan exporters facing serious problems to get exports orders due to high prices of Pakistani goods. Obtaining exports orders is becoming very difficult with the passage of time due to ever increasing cost of manufacturing in the country. Malik recalled that government had promised to bring mark-up rates in single digit and asked the government to honour its commitment. He was of the view that the governments have to adopt well thought and well designed economic policies to keep industrial units operating smoothly without any interference.-PR
