Bullet-proof vehicles: Wapda clarifies position

Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) has clarified its position with regard to a news item appearing in a section of electronic media on Monday regarding purchase of bullet-proof vehicles. Wapda spokesperson said the authority intends to purchase three bullet-proof vehicles to provide protection to its consultants and engineers for executing projects underway in the troubled areas.
Of the three vehicles, one is being purchased for Kurram Tangi Dam Project located in North Waziristan Agency, one for Munda Dam Project in Mohmand Agency, detailed engineering design of which is about to commence, while the third one is for Wapda projects underway in Balochistan including two medium irrigation dams.-PR
