One of the offshoots of PML - 'Like-Minded' - on Monday decided to speed up activism to take opportunity out of present national political turmoil. The faction that got separated from PML-Q led by Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain after 2008 elections, disappeared from the scene for a while and now resurfaced with a three-day tour to Sindh to meet its like-minded parties.
The visit of the party's central leaders is starting from Karachi on Tuesday, September 28 and will continue until Thursday, September 30. Leaders will also visit interior Sindh to discuss issues of mutual interest regarding present political disorder, party sources said.
Delegation of PML LM group, according to sources, the party's President Senator Saleem Saifullah Khan will lead, while other members including Party's Secretary General Humayoon Akhtar Khan, Senator Abdul Ghaffar Qureshi, MNA Ghulam Hyder Samejo, MNA Kishan Chand Parwani, MNA Arbab Zakaullah, MPA, Abdul Razzaq Rahimoo and Arbab Zulfiqar.
However, the party's chairman of the steering committee and the former foreign minister will not take part in this political galvanisation because of his foreign engagements - which include talks with former president Pervez Musharraf on present political issues and formation of the new government.
Analysts believe all PML factions except PML-N are going to join hands to form a new political party. However, a spokesman for LM faction has denied such an aim was behind the central leadership's visit. "We are not going towards any merger," he added.
Earlier, PML-Q had announced its merger with PML-F led by Pir Pagaro - what he called it the formation of PMLs in the national interest and vowed to bring the country out of present crisis. The LM delegation will meet Pir Pagaro, leaders of MQM, former Prime Minister Zafarullah Jamali, Mumtaz Bhutto and Murtaza Jatoi, besides visiting Arbab House during the visit, a party official said.
