A slight rebound in the US dollar triggered technical selling and profit-taking in Chicago Board of Trade grain futures on Monday, traders said. Forecasts for some of the best harvest weather so far this season in the US Midwest this week added pressure on corn and soyabeans.
CBOT grain and soy complex trends at 10:30 am CDT (1530 GMT) on Monday: December wheat down 9 cents at $7.11 per bushel. USDA reported export inspections of US wheat in latest week at 24.275 million bushels, at the low end of estimates for 24 million to 28 million. December corn down 4-1/4 cents at $5.17-1/2 per bushel. November soyabeans up 2 cents at $11.28 a bushel.
