Irfan Ahmed Sheikh and Taufique Ahmad took charge as Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Association held here the other day. Both were elected unopposed to their offices for a one-year term (2010-2011).
Official results for 10 managing committee members were also announced by the election commissioners from North and South Zones of the Association at the meeting. The meeting was attended by the President Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Shahzad Ali Malik, out-going REAP Chairman Malik Muhammad Jahangir, former Chairman Haji Azhar Akhtar, former Vice-Chairman Tariq Aziz and a large number of rice exporters from all over the country. Speaking on this occasion, Irfan Ahmed Sheikh vowed to continue working for enhancing rice exports from Pakistan despite devastation caused by floods.
