Acting Chairman Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PPMA), Khawaja Shahzeb Akram has said that the pharma industry would continue to provide quality medicines to the government of Punjab so that poor patients could have benefit of these. He said the industry would also continue support for the betterment of health department.
These views were expressed by him while leading a 50-member delegation of pharma industry to a meeting with Secretary Health Punjab Fawad Hassan Fawad. Akram briefed secretary health about the problems being faced by the industry and conveyed reservations of members of PPMA about the pending payments of recent tenders of Punjab government.
Addressing the meeting, Fawad Hassan Fawad ensured resolution of all the problems being faced by the pharma industry. Government will continue purchasing (of medicines) from local pharma companies instead of multinational companies, he added. Special Secretary Waseem Mukhtar, Additional Secretary Zeerak Mirza, DG Health Dr Attiq, Former Chairman PPMA Mian Asas Shuja-ur-Rehman, Muhammad Zak-Ur-Rehman, Amjad Ali Jawa, Khawaja Muhammad Akram, Nasir Chohdry, Regional Chairman Mansoor Dilawer, Central and Regional executive committee members including Shafiq Abasi, Ryasat Bhati, Ejaz Siddiqi and other senior officials of health department were also present on the occasion.-PR
