Controller of Examinations, Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK), Professor Agha Akber Mirza on Tuesday announced the results of Higher Secondary School Certificate Part-II, Commerce group (Private) annual examinations 2010. As per the announcement, 12, 381 candidates were registered, 12, 029 students appeared in the examination out of them 5147 passed their exams.
The pass percentage remained 42.79 per cent. 11 cases of unfair means were detected during the exams, he said. Total 9689 male candidates were registered out of which 9402 students appeared and 4196 passed the annual test, he said, adding that overall pass percentage stood at 44.63 per cent. Around 2692 female candidates registered and 2627 appeared and 951 passed the exams. Pass percentage remained 36.20 per cent.
He said only two female candidates managed to get A-I grades while 51 male and 27 female students obtained A grade. Among others, 426 male and 155 female candidates obtained B grade whereas 1, 642 male and 378 female obtained C grade while 1, 968 male and 364 female got D grade.
Wajiha Zafar, daughter of Syed Zafar Ahmed, roll number 615078, bagged first position with 891 marks out of total 1100. Wajiha said she was unable to submit her form on time as a regular candidate and had decided to appear in annual examination as a private candidate. "I am willing to take admission in Institute of Business Administration (IBA), but I may not be able to get admission due to financial problems," she added. Reba Athar, daughter of Athar Pervaiz, roll number 614599 stood second with 882 marks. Kausar, daughter of Umer Farooq, roll number 614049, secured third position with 862 marks and 78.36 per cent.
