Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will train over 40,000 teachers across the country under its training programme being launched on October 15. The programme will be arranged by Directorate of Quality Enhancement in collaboration of Intel Education Initiative Pakistan in Sir Syed Hall of the University.
AIOU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Nazir Ahmed Sangi will preside over the function, said a news release issued on Wednesday. Professor Dr Sangi has planned to arrange ICT training for tutors, which will prove fruitful for educational quality enhancement besides contributing in country's development and prosperity. The trained tutors will give training to tutors at regional and districts level.
AIOU is only the University amongst all Open Universities around the world, which started ICT training programme for tutors. In the first batch, 50 tutors of Islamabad region would be trained. The ICT training will continue till October 17 and timing of the training is 9am to 5pm daily in the labs of Computer Science Department of the university.
