Azhar Haideri Awan ,(22), son of a stage artist Kaswar Haideri, married to second girl on Tuesday. His first wife Humera was with him in the marriage party. Humera was married to Azhar on Sunday. However "Rasm-e-Henna" was offered simultaneously. Azhar told newsmen that he had accomplished all legal requirements and he got permission from his first wife before marrying the other.
Azhar appealed to Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and International social organisations to help them celebrating their honeymoon abroad. .He said I never though that my marriage would be discussed internationally and media would give it extra ordinary coverage. "Islam prohibits the marriage with two real sisters but it does not forbids from the marriage with two girls at a time," said Allama Mazhar Saeed Kazmi, a renowned religious scholar and elder brother of Minister for religious affairs Hamid Saeed Kazmi. Rashid Rehman incharge of HRCP Multan Chapter said, "It is apparently a forced marriage which happened to save a family. However if both girls are agree to do so then, one of them would give permission for second marriage.
