Hashoo Foundation - Population, Refugee and Migration (PRM) Project, in collaboration with Shifa Foundation Islamabad organised a free medical camp for Afghan refugees residing here, said a press release issued here on Tuesday. The camp was organised to cater to community health needs. Shifa International's medical staff (male and female) comprising general physicians, specialists and paramedical staff provided free medical treatment and medicines.
Patients; with serious problems were further referred to Shifa International Hospital Islamabad, for free treatment. The camp treated more than 200 patients free of cost, out of which 40 were referred to Shifa Hospital. Hashoo Foundation is implementing, PRM funded project "Skills Trainings and Income Generation for urban Afghan refugees residing in Rawalpindi/Islamabad". This project is aimed at skills development of Afghan refugees and facilitation their access to job/labour market. Target beneficiaries of PRM project are less privileged Afghan refugees who are facing various social, economic and health problems.-PR
