"And the man was much maligned in the media subsequently; but anyway I don't think the return of the cheque would matter to Babar Awan after all Kazi Anwer's term comes to an end in less than a week."

"Would she accept a cheque on behalf of the employees of the association and for the library?"
"That remains to be seen but I do know that the association is not poor - it has around 12 and a half crore rupees, given by Musharraf's government, so there is no dearth of money I would imagine."
"Would it not have been better if the cheque had been cashed and then donated for the flood victims?"
"That would have made a point more forcibly but you know Babar Awan would have explained it by saying that the money was given in the budget for a particular purpose and therefore he himself could not give the money directly to the flood victims."
"Interesting, how a non-development budgetary expenditure that an association does not even need cannot be diverted for flood victims while the budget itself is under review!"
