Investigating journalist's abduction: Rana Sanaullah appears before commission

Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan on Tuesday appeared before the judicial commission probing kidnapping of journalist Umar Cheema by unknown persons last month. Rana Sanaullah submitted a written statement before chairman of the commission Former Justice Mian Najmu-uz-Zaman here at the chief commissioner's office.
Later, talking to media, the minister said the modus operandi of the journalist's kidnapping and torturing was the same he faced on October 28, 1999 and March 8, 2003. In reply to a question that the Punjab Assembly had passed a unanimous resolution giving inappropriate remarks against journalists, he said the adverse remarks had been expunged from the assembly proceedings after holding talks with the journalist bodies.
