A suicide bomber killed two police officers on Monday when he detonated his explosives as guards tried to stop him from entering a local police station in Sawabi, a government official said. Six more policemen were injured by the attack in Shah Mansoor area of Sawabi district, some 80 kilometers north-west of Islamabad.
"Four attackers arrived at the main gate of the complex and two of them opened fire at the guards, injuring one of them. Later one attacker who was wearing a suicide vest managed to enter the gate and blew himself up there," District Police Chief Abdullah Khan said. Police gave chase to the three remaining assailants, killing one of them in the nearby hills, Khan added.
