Dengue fever: body formed to formulate guidelines

Punjab Health Department has constituted a core group comprising medical experts to formulate guidelines and SOPs for prevention against dengue fever. Punjab Health Secretary Fawad Hassan constituted the committee while presiding over a meeting here on Monday, said an official.
The meeting was attended by Special Secretary Health Punjab Waseem Mukhtar, Dean Institute of Public Health Professor Mehmood Qazi, Director Health Management Information System Dr Muhammad Anwar Janjua, Professor Dr Nusrat Jahan of Government College University, Professor Aslam Rathore of Health Services Academy Islamabad and Entomologist Punjab Rana Saleem.
The Secretary Health directed that a vigorous spray and fogging campaign should be carried out in all districts during Eid-ul-Azha holidays for the eradication of mosquitoes. He announced to cancel Eid holidays of the staff and officers of public health department for launching the campaign effectively.
