Carpeting of one track of Banaras fly-over will be completed within a week while the construction of road around the bridge will start from Tuesday. Administrator Karachi, Fazlur Rehman paid a visit of under construction Banaras flyover here on Monday.
During his visit he directed officers of Works and Services Department, City District Government Karachi (CDGK) to ensure round the clock construction work of roads and storm water drain. He expressed concern on not shifting 12 inch dia water supply line by Karachi Water and Sewerage Board despite of earlier instruction that has creating hurdles in the execution of development work and again directed water board to make immediate measure for the shifting of pipeline without delay.
Administrator said that this is a big project of CDGK and the construction of surrounding roads and storm water drain also holds equal importance. He said that this project will not suffer due to financial constraints because city government was making regular payments to the contractors, adding that since June 2010 a sum of Rs 390 million has been paid to contractor firm and more amount will be paid if required.
