Punjab government has notified that six days working week will be observed in the province of Punjab with effect from November 22, 2010. The office timings from Monday to Thursday and Saturday will be from 8.00 am to 3.00 pm while on Friday from 8.00 am to 12.00 noon.
It may be recalled that the federal government had issued a notification regarding two-day off in the beginning of summer to meet the energy consumption load. In compliance with the federal government's decision, the Punjab government had also extended the two-day weekend in the province. The Federal government and provincial governments of Sindh, Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa and Balochistan and the banking institutions are still implementing the 5 days week decision.
