Mixed sentiments prevailed on the Lahore Stock Exchange on Monday and the equities moved both ways and finally stayed in green zone amid marginally decreased trading turnover. The LSE-25 index gained 14.52 points and was ended at 3407.10 against 3392.58 of last Friday while transaction volume was squeezed to 4.163 million shares as compared to previous volume of 4.819 million shares.
The market opened on mixed note but could not sustain because of lacking buying support. The market remained range-bound during first couple of hours and started moving down following investors' offloading in selective shares. However, ahead of closing of trading, the market showed some recovery to close in positive zone.
The gainers were more than the losers, as out of a total of 118 active issues, 33 companies posted gains, 24 landed in negative zone, while values of 61 companies remained unchanged at their previous levels. Among gainers, Pak Oil Fields gained Rs 5.69, Adamjee Insurance was appreciated by Rs 2.79, PSO was improved by Rs 2.75 while PPL and OGDC were up by Rs 2.22 and Rs 0.87 respectively.
However, Sui Northern lost Rs 1.62, Sui Southern was declined by Rs 1.20, while Attock Refinery and Punjab Modaraba were down by Rs 1.12 and Rs 0.90 respectively. Lotte Pakistan PTA was the market leader whose 2.021 million shares changed hands followed by Arif Habib Securities with 352,452 shares.
