Environment Protection Department (EPD) on Monday issued instructions to all District Co-ordination Officers (DCOs) for formulation of special plan in order to carry out animal and solid waste disposal on Eid-ul-Azha.
According to a spokesperson here, Punjab Secretary of EPD, Sajjad Saleem Hotiana has sent circulars to all DCOs of Punjab for formulation of special plan for cleanliness and safe disposal of animal waste. Also, EPA Director General, Dr Shahgufta Shahjahan has directed all District Officers (Environment) in Punjab to furnish reports about the arrangements before and after Eid-ul-Azha, to initiate proceedings under Pakistan Environmental Protection Act 1997 against those TMOs not taking actions for safe disposal of animal and other solid waste properly.
