Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in his Eid message here on Tuesday said that Eidul Azha reminds us of the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (PBUH) to earn the blessings of Allah Almighty. He said that Islam gives the message of peace and brotherhood and to help poor and indigent persons. He said that we should not forget our destitute and hapless brethren in our Eid celebration.
Felicitating the people on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha the Chief Minister said that we should share Eid joys with the poor and indigent persons as well as the flood affected people to discharge our religious and moral obligation. He said that Punjab government is implementing a comprehensive programme for poverty alleviation and enabling the poor families and flood affected victims in achieving self-reliance.
He said that a model society can be set up by adhering to the golden principle of equality and justice and respect for humanity. Punjab government is taking practical measures towards this end. The Chief Minister made an appeal to the nation to offer special prayers for national strength and solidarity of Eidul Azha.
