The Cabinet has approved the partnership agreement between the Engineering Development Board (EDB) and Dutch Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI) for supporting business organisations of these countries in different fields, including training of exporters.
Sources told Business Recorder here on Saturday that the Cabinet in its last meeting of November 10, 2010 had considered the summary submitted by the Ministry of Industries and Production on ''Partnership Agreement between Engineering Development Board (EDB) and Dutch Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI)''.
The Cabinet was informed that the Engineering Development Board (EDB), a business support organisation for the engineering sector, which has been playing the role of an effective bridge between the government and the private industrial sector of the country, had proposed to sign an agreement with Dutch Centre for Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI), which is also involved in training of the exporters from the developing countries in various areas.
The CBI is an agency of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is promoting development co-operation effort being made by the Netherlands. As per the proposed terms, CBI and EDB will collaborate in areas of mutual interests, which include European Union market information database, along with participation in export coaching programmes.
Approval, in principle, of Cabinet was solicited by the Ministry of Industries for initiating negotiations between CBI - Netherlands and Engineering Development Board for finalising the agreement to become a partner business support origination, sources said.
The Cabinet considered the summary, dated October 28, 2010, submitted by Ministry of Industries & Production on ''Partnership Agreement between Engineering Development Board (EDB) and Dutch Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI)'', and approved partnership agreement between Engineering Development Board (EDB) and Dutch Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI), sources added.
