The United States of America (USA) will do whatever it can for the preservation cultural heritage, shrines and historical sites in Sindh. This was stated by the US Consul General William Martin while delivering his message on the occasion of "Sindh cultural day" at his resident here on Saturday.
"I will be reaching out the cultural and heritage sites of Sindh and see If anything we can do to preserve the cultural sites of this province, as USA is certainly a champion of this cause", he said. While adding to his reply, US Information Officer Andie De Arment said that US Ambassador in Pakistan also has a fund for cultural heritage under a world wide programme.
"We nominates culturally important sites, mosques, buildings and museums, which need refurbishment for preservation in every country around the world", she added. She noted out that USA was already undertaking heritage preservation projects in Pakistan, but they are mostly in Punjab province.
Andie pointed out that US Consul General William Martin was keen to take up cultural heritage projects undertake this fund which is meant for heritage preservation in Sindh and Balochistan, which is his area of operation. "It is a grant and it is free money for improving mosques, shrines or historical sites. She said that United States monitor the progress of refurbishment and preservation work at the sites and also hire experts who know what to do to preserve cultural heritage sites.
