Two legislators of Pakistan Muslim League-Q on Friday called on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Chief Nawaz Sharif and paid tributes to him for following the politics based on principles. PML-Q Senator, Syed Javed Ali Shah accompanied by PML-Q MNA, Pir Mian Mohammad Aslam Bodla and former MPA Syed Mujahid Ali Shah met with Nawaz Sharif at his Raiwind residence and discussed country's political and economic situation besides other important matters, sources told Business Recorder.
Sources claimed that the PML-Q legislators lauded the services of Nawaz for the cause of democracy and independence of judiciary in the country. They also shared their past memories with Nawaz. According to the sources, the PML-Q legislators had shown inclination for returning to the PML-N fold.
Hamza Shahbaz Sharif MNA and Rana Mehmood-ul-Hasan were also present during the meeting. The PML-N chief said that the country at present was facing numerous challenges including price hike, unemployment, poverty and poor law & order situation. He said the present government has failed in overcoming price hike and unemployment.
"If voted to power again, the PML-N would write a new history of public service by initiating public welfare projects," he said adding, "Poverty and unemployment are root cause of corruption and collective efforts are needed to root out this curse." When contacted PML-N senior leader, Mohammad Pervaiz Malik told this scribe that the meeting of PML-Q legislators with PML-N chief shows growing popularity of Nawaz.
"The doors of the PML-N are open except for those who caused harm to the party by stabbing from the back. Nevertheless, in politics, doors cannot be closed. We would welcome all those in the party fold who return back without any conditionality," he said. Conversely, sources close to the PML-Q leadership said the PML-Q legislators had met with the PML-N leader in their individual capacity without any permission from the party.
