The legislators of Balochistan Assembly, during its session on Friday, passed an amended criminal procedure code bill and two resolutions on CSS issue and attacks on governor and chief minister of Balochistan respectively.
The assembly session started with Speaker, Muhammad Aslam Bhootani in the chair, while a number of ministers and MPAs were on leave. The question hour stood disposed off as the mover MPA Rubina Irfan was not present in the house.
Minister for Prosecution, Ms Rahila Durrani moved the resolution, which read that 14 candidates out of total 34 from Balochistan, who passed CSS exams, have yet to get posted. The resolution recommended the provincial government to approach the federal government to seek posting of remaining 14 candidates, such as accommodation like that 12th Common Batch in General Ziaul Haq regime, besides ensuring posting on the vacant seats in Balochistan Police.
Continuing her speech, Ms Durrani said Balochistan is not given adequate quota in federal government jobs, adding that candidates from Balochistan who have passed CSS exams are not being accommodated on federal seats.
On the occasion, Minister for Revenue, Eng. Zamarak Khan demanded to double Balochistan quota for federal government jobs. Also, Ministers Ahsan Shah and Abdur Rehman demanded immediately posting of the candidates passing CSS exams. On this, Chief Minister Balochistan, Nawab Aslam Raisani said he would take up the issue of CSS with Prime Minister, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani.
Minister for Irrigation Sardar Aslam Bezinjo on behalf of Home Minister, tabled Criminal Procedure Code 1898 (Balochistan Amendment) which was passed into law unanimously. Speaking on a resolution moved by PML-Q MPA Jaffar Khan Mandokhal, which sought action against those involved in attacks on convoys of governor and chief minister of Balochistan, Health Minister, Maulana Aainullah Shams sought summoning of 'all parties conference' to discuss Balochistan issue to find a solution to the issue.
He said that some superpowers have earned hatred in Pakistan by carrying out bomb, drone and missile attacks on the motherland. He added that Balochistan issue would be mulled over keeping in view the presence of US led allied forces in neighbouring country.
Expressing his views, Lawmaker Zahore Buledi termed the attacks on Governor and CM of Balochistan a part of planned conspiracy to push Balochistan to tribal war. He added that peace could not be secured in the province until sense of deprivation amongst Baloch youths is removed. MPA Tariq Hussain Masori Bugti lamented that innocent people, including labourers, teachers and doctors are being killed in the incidents of target killing. He urged the tribal chieftains to play their role in maintaining peace in the province. Sultan Tareen, Jaffar George and Masood Loni also spoke on the occasion. The chair referred the resolution to the house, which adopted it unanimously. Later, the speaker adjourned proceedings till December 13th, 11am.
