Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif has said the best way to pay homage to the Father of the Nation Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah is to follow his golden principles and dedicate our life to the cause of social, political and economic stability of the country.
In a message on the birth anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the chief minister said on Friday that today the nation should renew its pledge to face all challenges with unity. He also said the Quaid-i-Azam was resolute, steadfast and a man of principles whom no one could deter from his cause.
"It was due to the dynamic and inspiring leadership of Quaid-i-Azam that Muslims of the subcontinent succeeded in carving out a separate homeland. It is the demand of the day that we should pledge to spare no effort for transforming Pakistan into an Islamic state in the real sense as was envisioned by the leaders of Pakistan Movement. Pakistan is passing through a critical phase and the enemy wants to destabilise the country. There is a need for collective efforts for foiling the nefarious designs of the enemies and achieve the objectives for the creation of country set forth by Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Iqbal. We should rise above all linguistic, regional and sectarian differences and play an active role for the progress and prosperity of the country as well as making it a haven of peace and tranquility."
The chief minister has congratulated the Christian community on Christmas and said the whole nation shared the joys and happiness of their Christian brethren. He said Christian community was playing a commendable role in the progress and development of Pakistan. "Minorities living in Pakistan are peaceful and patriotic and Christians have made commendable sacrifices for the country in every hour of need," he added.
He said the Punjab government is striving for welfare and prosperity of all people without any discrimination of religion, caste or creed. He averred that Pakistan was an Islamic state and all minorities have complete religious freedom and equal rights in the light of the Quran and Sunnah and constitution of the country. "Christian community should offer special prayers for solidarity, stability and prosperity of the country on the occasion of Christmas," he added.
