Report regarding the ongoing investigation into the assassination of Benazir Bhutto would be presented at the next meeting of Central Executive Committee (CEC) of Pakistan People's Party, Federal Law Minister Babar Awan told media persons late Sunday, Aaj News reported.
The minister said that the CEC meeting was not briefed about the progress made so far in the probe into BB's murder, as Chairperson PPP, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was absent.
He said the CEC meeting decided that no provocative statements would be issued.
Babar Awan said that the CEC adopted a unanimous resolution, pledging to carry on the policy of reconciliation with renewed spirit in future.
"The policy of reconciliation will now be pursued with a renewed spirit for further strengthening democratic process in the country," he said, adding, mandate of each and every party whether part of the coalition or not will be respected.
He said President Asif Ali Zardari would reshuffle the federal Cabinet in 2011. He said during the meeting it was decided that any changes in the cabinet would be done on the basis of performance. Babar Awan said the PPP was ready for local bodies elections next year.
Babar Awan said the President would announce the date of next CEC meeting after holding consultations with the party leaders, the channel added.
To a question, the Minister said JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazal- ur-Rehman was a pro-democracy leader and always extended support on the issues of national importance.
To another question about progress in the investigation of the assassination of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, Babar Awan remarked, who could be more concerned about it than President Zardari and his children.
APP adds: The Central Executive Committee of PPP endorsed a resolution to promote the policy of reconciliation.
The party's CEC, which met here on the eve of third death anniversary of its martyred chairperson Benazir Bhutto, was presided over by the President and party's Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.
Addressing the meeting President Asif Ali Zardari said, "We will promote Shaheed Benazir Bhutto's policy of reconciliation and take her mission forward."
He said, "We will take all allies along with us and will accept the mandate of each ally."
Party presidents of four provinces as well as of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), federal ministers, provincial ministers, members of the CEC participated in the meeting. Two daughters of President Asif Ali Zardari, Bahktawar Bhutto Zardari and Aseefa Bhutto Zardari also attended the meeting.
The meeting paid tribute to Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto for promoting democracy.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Chief Minister Gilgit- Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah, President PPP Azad Jammu and Kashmir Abdul Majeed Chaudhry also addressed the meeting. They expressed their full confidence in the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari and party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
