The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has cancelled all the allotment letters issued so far to the allottees of Kuri and Rehara Compensation Packages and declared them 'invalid and withdrawn' with immediate effect. Fresh allotment letters would be issued to the entitled awardees upon the return of the previous allotment letters, and after completion of all legal and procedural formalities, said Imtiaz Inayat Elahi, Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) here on Monday.
The CDA Chairman also approved measures to streamline the implementation of Kuri and Rehara Compensation Packages and directed that no further allotments shall be made in model village Kuri to any person until further orders and plots already allotted shall not be transferred to new applicants, said a spokesman of the CDA. He said that the Chairman also directed to add the feature of photograph to the re-validated allotment letters for the sake of enhanced security.
The issuance of re-validated allotment letters to entitled awardees would be free of payment of cash compensation, he said, adding that the cash compensation would be made depending upon the availability of funds for the purpose. However, a report regarding eligibility criteria for cash compensation from the Deputy Director Land would be required.
The entitled awardees would not be required to pay development charges in cash before the issuance of re-validated allotment letters. However, the amount of development charges would be deducted from cash compensation payable to the victims, he said. He said that the CDA Chairman has also directed the concerned directorate to maintain a comprehensive file for re-validated allotment letters. Three reports would be mandatory besides other procedural formalities on the file. These reports included demolishing report, eligibility certificate by the concerned Directorate and cash compensation eligibility certificate by the concerned Directorate, he added. In addition to these reports, the entitled awardee would also submit an undertaking in the form of an affidavit that he has not taken any other benefit from CDA, the spokesman said.
After completing all procedural requirements the Director Land would issue re-validated allotment letters, which required to be received by the respective entitled awardee as per procedure adopted by the Authority for such cases, he said. To avoid any double allotments all the cases for re-validated allotment letter be processed through computer using the software similar to Sector I-11 and I-12 packages, the Chairman instructed.
The Chairman further directed the concerned department to widely publicise the measures being taken to streamline the implementation process of Kuri and Rehara compensation packages with the view to inform the general public particularly the victims of the areas.
