PTCL has introduced another state of the art product (business in a box) for SME sector under the umbrella of its smart solutions. Giving a presentation to the SME sector Mr Noman Ashraf Senior Manager product development Islamabad said that connectivity is need for today as the business grows, so does the dependency on the internet for access to real time business applications which demanded faster and more efficient connectivity to the internet.
Khalid jawaid, General Manager, FTR, said that PTCL has introduced best IT Services at most affordable rates. He claimed that Faisalabad Region has enjoying best services coupled with fault-free connectivity for all value-added services. He further told that during this current year 60,000 new landline connections have been added in this Region. He said that total number of landline connections in this Region have jumped to 2,65,000.
Intervening, Senior Manager Noman Ashraf said that PTCL's Business in a Box allows companies to cater their current and future business need. This gateway device provides broadband Internet connection sharing, firewall security, VPN connectivity, IP telephony, IP Camera surveillance audio/video streaming and wireless LAN connectivity in a very secure and faster manner.
He said that end user requirements and critical communication needs have changed drastically from legacy voice and low speed data interfaces to bandwidth hungry application, providing highly robust and reliable connectivity interfaces with auto switchover functionality.
He further said that PTCL business in a box is not only limited to a typical DSL, but also provides the functionality of WLAN access points, VolP, IPSec, File server and Printer server in a single CPE. This gateway device also provides CPE WAN Management Protocol, which eases and reduces the management effort of the service providers.
Basharat Qureshi General Manager Corporate Services said that SMEs are considered the engine of economic growth in both developed and developing countries as they provide low cost employment since the unit cost of persons employed is lower for SMEs than for large-size units. He said that assist in regional and local development since SMEs accelerate rural industrialisation by linking it with the more organised urban sector also helps achieve fair and equitable distribution of wealth by regional dispersion of economic activities.
He further said that SME contribute significantly to export revenues because of the low-cost labour-intensive nature of its products. SME assist in fostering a self-help and entrepreneurial culture by bringing together skills and capital through various lending and skill enhancement schemes. He said that impart the resilience to withstand economic upheavals and maintain a reasonable growth rate since being indigenous is the key to sustainability and self-sufficiently. The presentation was also attended by Omair Ateeq Khan AM Corporate Services, Abid Aziz SM Corporate Services, Ahmed Razzaq Siddiqi FEDMIC, Ghulam Dastgir SME Bank and Sohail Bin Rasheed Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
