Balochistan Geoscientists Association (BGSA) on Friday strongly protested ex-cadre postings in Irrigation Department and termed them as exploitation of geoscientists. According to a statement issued on Friday, BGSA leaders said: "Geoscientists including geologists and geophysicists have been performing their duties in BPS-17 for past 20 to 28 years in Irrigation Department.
"They are deprived of promotion for a long period. Whenever a senior post is vacant due to retirement of a senior geoscientist official, employees of other cadre are posted on this post, instead of geoscientists". They noted that posting of ex-cadre persons on the post in Irrigation Department which was genuine legal and legitimate right of geoscientists had created depression and disappointment in the employees.
