Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Punjab leadership rushed to the residence of former Governor Salman Taseer as soon as the news broke. Senior Punjab Minister, Raja Riaz Ahmed and some other prominent party workers reached the residence of Salman Taseer to condole with Amina Taseer, the widow of former Governor. Relatives and close friends of Taseer family turned up one after another at his residence.
Talking to the media, the PPP Punjab Secretary General, Samiullah Khan said the party workers were very shocked after hearing the news of Slaman Taseer's assassination. He also condemned the religious intolerance and termed it dangerous for the country.
