The Sindh Government has introduced the Biometric Identification Electronic System (BIES) project. This has been done to foster awareness among the Sindh Secretariat staff regarding security. A statement here on Tuesday said that a meeting to this effect was held in the office of the Chief Secretary of Sindh, Ghulam Ali Shah Pasha, who reviewed the overall progress.
It was pointed out that BIES project has been elaborated in accordance with a resolution passed by the Sindh Assembly. Total project cost is Rs 98.87 million, which will store biometrics information for all employees of Sindh Secretariat with 42 Departments, CM House and Governor House.
