Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) Monday expressed their shock over match-fixing in Punjab Cup and vowed to take stern steps to punish such acts in future. "We are shocked to know match-fixing in Punjab Cup involving former nationally ranked player Imran Mughal and Muhammad Umer," PBSA Alamgir Shaikh said while recording his reaction on the contrversy.
"We never heard such thing in the past so it was stunning. We would be taking all steps to see that it never happens again," he said. Commenting on Punjab Billiards and Snooker Association decision, he said initailly they imposed three years ban on Imran Mughal and Muhammad Umer but after appeal it was curtailed to one year. He however said PBSA will take all steps to curb this match- fixing mense entering into snooker in future. He promised harsh punishments if this kind of thing happens again in any event played under their umbrella.
