Federal Minister for Communications Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan while chairing a high level meeting here in Islamabad, ordered National Highway Authority (NHA) to improve the toll collection system to achieve the target of Rs 20 billion.
The meeting was also attended by Parliamentary Secretary for Communications Chaudhry Saeed Iqbal, acting Chairman NHA Muhammad Junaid, Additional Secretary Communications Amjad Nazeer and other senior officers of the ministry and NHA. Federal Minister for Communications, Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan showed concern over the present toll collection system on the entire National Highways and Motorways.
He said that toll collection is a vital source of revenue urgently required for rehabilitation /maintenance of damaged roads. Federal Minister for Communications also expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of weighing stations and ordered NHA management to have strict supervision of weighing stations.-PR
