Under Sasti Roti Programme around 29 mechanical tandoors would be set up in the district for which interest free loans are also being provided to the applicants from the Punjab Small Industries Corporation, DCO Naseem Sadiq informed the meeting here on Tuesday.
The meeting was further informed that the interest free loan of Rs 2,35000 was being provided which would be returnable in monthly soft instalment during the 5 years after the two months grace period of two months. Regional Director Punjab Small Industries Corporation, Habibulla informed that the loan for the establishment of mechanical tandoors could be advanced on the personal guarantee of two government officers and there would be no need of any mortgage of property.
He explained that the applicants having the connections of sui gas could apply for setting up of the mechanical tandoors in the industrial areas, general bus stand, poor localities and slum areas. He said that subsidised atta would be provided to the operators of the mechanical tandoors and they would have to sale 100 gm weight roti at Rs 2/-.
