The revenue collection in Domestic Operation South (DOS) has witnessed some 19.5 percent growth during July-December period. According to the provisional statistics made available to Business Recorder on Wednesday, said the revenue figures in DOS depicted significant increase of around 19.5 percent, as Rs 327.02 billions was collected as against last period collection of Rs 273.70 billion.
The revenue collection on account of sales tax has shown a growth of 24.2 percent during the said period, as Rs 178.61 billion was collected during first six months of ongoing fiscal year as against Rs 143.8 billion made in the corresponding period.
Similarly, the collection figures of income tax and federal excise duty were stood at Rs 119.8 billion and Rs 29.8 billion, portraying 13.1 percent and 3.7 percent growth, respectively during said period. The improved tax effort and effective implementation of tax policy and administrative reforms geared up the collection over the years.
