LHC disposes of petition against barricades

The Lahore High Court (LHC) here on Thursday disposed of a petition challenging blockade of thoroughfare outside Minhajul Quran Institute of Dr Tahirul Qadri as Division Superintendent of Model Town Police informed the court that barricades had been removed from the road.
Residents of Model Town submitted in their petition that the administration of the institute erected barricades outside its entrance which causing serious problems to the locals. They pleaded that the fundamental rights of citizens could not be usurped in the name of security. They, therefore, prayed to the court to order the authorities concerned to remove the barricades from outside the said institute.
