MOL Pakistan has officially confirmed that two individuals kidnapped on December 20, 2011 from the Marmazai area in Tal Block, District Hangu have safely returned home after their families negotiated their release with the kidnappers.
The company however has clarified that two employees of a subcontractor company working with MOL at Maramzai production well, who were kidnapped in the unfortunate and violent incident on Thursday January 20, 2011 continue to be missing and efforts are underway for their recovery.
The Managing Director MOL Pakistan has expressed his satisfaction over the safe return of Fayyaz-ur-Rehman Khattak, Community Relations Officer (CRO) and his driver Syed Kalam and congratulated their families on the development. Two employees of a subcontractor company, Abdul Rashid an engineer and Moeen a driver continue to be in the possession of the kidnappers. "All possible efforts are underway to recover them safely and MOL Pakistan is closely working with the federal and provincial governments for the purpose," Feher added. Production of 40 MMSCFD natural gas and 1600 boe/d crude oil from Maramzai continues to be suspended. All other sites of MOL Pakistan in the Tal block area are unaffected and producing at normal levels.-PR
