Pakistan Muslim League (N) Quaid Nawaz Sharif has postponed his foreign tour to UK in view of his engagements and present domestic evolving situation.
Talking to Business Recorder, PML (N) spokesman Siddiqul Farooq said that his party Quaid had given a 45-day deadline earlier this month to implement his 10-point socio-economic and political agenda to arrest the present alarming slide of economic conditions, rise in inflation, deteriorating law and order situation and 30 percent cut in the government spending.
He said since then twenty days have passed but there is no visible progress towards implementation of the national agenda, which has been approved by almost all the political parties.
Farooque said State Bank of Pakistan's 29th January report clearly indicates that delays in crucial economic reforms had heightened challenges for the management of the economy as borrowings from the banking system at high interest rates were continuing to stoke inflationary pressures.
He said it is not a good omen for the country that the government has failed on all counts, including law and order, corruption, bad governance, mis-management of the economy.
PML (N) spokesman said that Mian Nawaz Sharif cannot leave the country as Pakistan is under tremendous US pressure to release Raymond Davis who has been charged with murder of two motorcyclists in Lahore.
US ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter had sought help of Nawaz Sharif for release of Davis, but Sharif politely turned down the request saying that the matter was sub judice.
