The District Quality Control Board has recommended to refer 33 cases to drug court for trial against the medical stores and quacks involved in illegal act of selling spurious drugs had running clinics without qualified persons.
The four owners of medical stores were given warning on minor violations. These recommendations were made during a meeting of district quality control board held here on Saturday with DCO Naseem Sadiq in the chair.
The DCO directed the drug inspectors to continue vigorous campaign against the sale of spurious drugs and quackery so that the enemies of human heaalth could be taken to task. He said to keep special surveillance on the history sheeted medical stores and in case of violation stern legal action should be taken against them without any discrimination.
He expressed his satisfaction over the present performance of drug inspectors and directed them regular checking should be carried out to purge the society from the menace of spurious drugs.
The meeting was attended by EDO Health Dr Rasheed, Chief Drug Inspector Shaukat Mustafa, Dr. Irshadul Haq, Ch. Abdul Saboor and other members of the board.
