'Sarajevo Business Forum 2011': 'industrialists invited to attend International Investment Conference'
Pakistani industrialists and businessmen should attend the 2nd International Investment Conference 'Sarajevo Business Forum 2011' to be held from April 6 in Sarajevo to explore investment opportunities, said Arman Limo, Ambassador of Bosnia Herzegovina in Pakistan here on Wednesday.
"We invite Pakistani businessmen to participate in the event to explore more business opportunities, which will help enhance the trade volume between two countries," the Bosnian envoy said while talking to Ali Raza Saeed Shah, President, Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI). Vice President Dr Shimail Daud, members of executive committee and renowned businessmen of the city were also present on the occasion.
He said that Pakistan and Bosnia need to improve their political and economic relations, besides promoting bilateral trade and investment. "The current trade volume between two countries is far below the respective potential and it is necessary to explore new vistas to increase the volume", he added. The Bosnian Ambassador said that both the countries have common religious and cultural relations that should be promoted to strengthen trade and economic ties.
Arman Limo said that Pakistani businessmen should consider Bosnia for joint ventures in the area of common interest. Pakistani products including rice, surgical instruments, sports goods and textile etc have good potential in Bosnian trade markets and Pakistani businessmen should establish direct trade links in Bosnia to grab better market share, he added.
He invited business community for trade with Bosnia and suggested to divert their business activities using Bosnia as Gate Way for exporting and capturing the European international trade market. President RCCI Syed Ali Raza said that Pakistan and Bosnia has still unexplored market for businessmen of both countries.
He said frequent exchange of business delegations and establishing direct contacts are the options, which should be used to exploit untapped bilateral trade and investment potential in both countries. Ali Raza said that Pakistan and Bosnia have low trade volume, which should be enhanced through emphasising on non-traditional items for the mutual benefit of the people of two countries.
He said Pakistani products including rice, sports goods, surgical instruments, pharmaceutical, leather & textile products etc can be exported to Bosnia and proposed that Bosnian businessmen should look into the opportunities to develop business relation in the identified areas. President RCCI also invited the chief guest to participate in the upcoming RCCI Trade Expo.
