The Karachi Port handled 101,141 tonnes of cargo including 62,125 tonnes of import cargo, 39,016 tonnes of export cargo, 5,938 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 62,125 tonnes comprised of 23,105 tonnes of containerised cargo; 968 tonnes of general cargo; 1,052 tonnes of rock phosphate and 37,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 39,016 tonnes comprised of 18,010 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,024 tonnes of general cargo; 19,807 tonnes of bulk cargo: 9,891 tonnes of wheat; 3,770 tonnes of rice; 4,920 tonnes of loose bulk cement and 175 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Eight ships namely New Legend Fortune, Al-Kuwaitiah, Loi Hope, Bunglar Kallol, Mariana Danica, Glory River, APL Torquoise and YM Europe with containers, diesel oil, jute, general cargo and containers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Five vessels viz Usma, Cap George, Abtin-1, APL Japan and MT Quetta carrying megas, containers and crude oil respectively are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely MT Quetta, Abtin-1 and Cap George carrying crude oil and containers respectively expected to sail on Thursday, while another ship namely Sargodha for repair expected to sail on Friday. Two vessels viz Al-Shuwaikh and Islamabad carrying diesel oil and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Thursday, while four vessels viz BW Yangtze, Ital Oceano, Greenwich Bridge and APL Sokhna with jet oil and containers respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 86,354 tonnes of cargo includes 63,374 tonnes of import cargo and 22,980 tonnes of export cargo, 2,615 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours.
The total import cargo of 63,374 tonnes includes 16,927 tonnes of furnace oil; 12,600 tonnes of edible oil; 100 tonnes of chemicals; 5,561 tonnes of sugar; 10,546 tonnes of general cargo and 17,640 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 22,980 tonnes includes 5,712 tonnes of cement and 17,268 tonnes of containerised cargo.
A furnace oil carrier MV Akaki sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while a container ship namely CV CGM Quartz is expected to sail on Thursday afternoon. A total number of eleven vessels viz Ikaruga, Margirit Rickmers, CV CGM Quartz, Kimon-A, MT Alexi-1, MV Island Star, Sea Venus, MV Trans Ocean, MT Chemtrans Mabuhay, Akaki and Malpensa are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, cement, canola seeds, sugar, chemicals, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Eight ships namely Jang San, STX Rose, Jun Hai-2, Sea Hope, Al-Salam-II, APL Chile, Bright Eagle and MSC Rafaela carrying rice, project cargo, dredging, fuel oil, diesel oil, canola seeds, containers, rice and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of three vessels viz CV APL Chile, CV MSC Rafaela and CV Saf Marine with containers and MT Al-Salam-II carrying diesel oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday.
