The Indus River System Authority (Irsa) released 83,000 cusecs water downstream the Tarbela and Mangla dams along with the run of the river waters of Kabul and Chenab on Friday to open the parennial irrigation canals across the country after a month long annual closure for desilting and repairs.
According to 4th February rivers flows and reservoirs level report of Water and Power Development Authority, about 42,000 cusecs water is flowing at the rim stations of the four live the country, Indus 14,500 cusecs, river Kabul 13,900, Jhelum 7,900 cusecs and river Chenab 6,000 cusecs. However, Irsa discharged 45,000 cusecs water from Tarbela dam on river Indus, 13,900 cusecs water of river Kabul, 18,000 cusecs from Mangla dam on river Jhelum and 6000 cusecs run of the Chenab river. The water inflows at Jinnah barrage is 45,700 cusecs, Chashma barrage 47,300, Taunsa 35,700, Panjnad 12,500 cusecs, Guddu barrage 29,400 cusecs, Sukkur 24,500 cusecs and Kotri 9,600 cusecs.
GOOD SNOWFALL OVER MURREE, GALLIYAT HILLS FOR NEXT THREE DAYS PREDICTED Meanwhile, the Meteorological department has forecast "good snowfall over Muree and Galliyat hills from Saturday to Monday.

Rain with snowfall over the hills is expected in Khyber Pakhtoonkhawah, Punjab, North East Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir with increasing trend during the next two days. Rain with snowfall occurred at isolated places in North Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa, upper Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan/Kashmir.
RAINFALL IN MILLIMETERS RECORDED AT 1700 PST DURING LAST 24 HOURS: Dir = 53.0, Chitral and Malam Jabba = 32.0 (each), Lower Dir and Pattan = 29.0 (each), Quetta = 18.0, Parachinar = 16.0, Saidu Sharif and Kalam = 15.0 (each), Mirkhani = 14.0, Drosh = 11.0, Peshawar A/P = 8.0, Balakot and Peshawar city= 5.0 (each), Muzaffarabad and Kohat = 4.0 (each), Risalpur = 3.0, Chirat = 2.0, Garhi Dupatta = 1.0 Islamabad A/P, Kamra, Mianwali, Murree, Astore, Kakul, Rawalakot, Islamabad Z.P, Skardu, Chilas, Bannu, M.B.Din, Joharabad, D.I.Khan, Chakwal and Shorkot = Trace (each).
