Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ameer Haidar Khan Hoti has approved 129 new posts, including 75 charge nurses for Lady Reading Hospital in the current financial year 2010-11. It is pertinent to mention here that Chief Executive LRH and nursing staff has directed attention of the chief minister towards paucity of nurses and assisting staff in the hospital during his visit to the hospital for inquiring health of injured of Bajaur incident on December 27, 2010.
The chief minister issued on the spot directives to health department for removal of staff deficiency in the hospital keeping in view staff duty bound and affable services to ailing humanity. In giving effect to his announcement, the chief minister formally approved 129 new posts for the hospital.
The newly approved vacancies include; 75 seats for Charge Nurses (BP-16), 12 posts for Assistant (BP-7), 30 Ward Ardali (BP-2) and 12 posts of patients attendant. Meanwhile, the chief minister also approved reserving eight seats for Afghan students in eight medical colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Under the decision, afghan students will be provided an opportunity of professional education on one seat each in Ayub Medical College Abbotabad, Khyber Medical College Peshawar, Saidu Medical College Swat, Gomal Medical College DI Khan, Bannu Medical College Bannu, Khyber College of Dentistry Peshawar, Ayub Medical College (Dentistry) Abbotabad and Khyber Girls Medical College Peshawar.
