The National Flag Carrier will bring back around 3,000 more Pakistanis stranded in Libya and nearby locations through 07 relief flights. PIA spokesman said here on Friday. On the instructions of Managing Director PIA, Nadeem Khan Yousufzai, PIA will operate 05 flights to Tripoli, Libya and two flights, one each to Djerba, Tunisia and Istanbul, Turkey.
The relief flights will be operated by PIA Jumbo Aircraft from 7th March to 11th March 2011. Five PIA relief flights (PK 7072) will operate from Karachi to Jeddah and then onwards to Tripoli and back to Karachi (PK 7082). In addition to the five relief flights, PIA will also operate two additional flights to bring back the stranded Pakistanis who have reached Djerba, Tunisia and Istanbul, Turkey.
PIA flight PK 7592 will operate from Karachi to Jeddah for Djerba and then to Karachi (PK 7602) while PIA flight PK 788 will be re-routed from London to Istanbul then onwards to Karachi and Islamabad. So far PIA has brought back more than 500 Pakistanis. PIA will operate additional flights if required to bring back the stranded Pakistanis. PIA Spokesman concluded.-PR
