It is really a pleasure for me to know that the Department of Social Work and the Centre of Excellence, University of Karachi are reputed for their committed learning and research. Social Work and Women's Studies are today's challenging and most promising fields. Their endeavours are already finding their way in all areas.
The Government of Sindh takes keen interest in providing opportunities to youth development process, therefore, it is essential to build a link between Government functionaries and educational institutions. Researches in the field of Social Work and Women's Studies have to formulate policies, their implementation and to overcome obstacles.
The Department of Social Work and the Centre of Excellence for Women's Studies are effectively fulfilling the requirements of society by producing competent social scientists and experts. The Directory of Alumni of the Department of Social Work and the Centre of Excellence for Women's Studies demonstrates the admirable efforts of both disciplines for introducing talented and innovative youth. On behalf of the Sindh Government, I express my appreciation of the efforts made by the Department of Social Work and the Centre of Excellence for Women's Studies under the active leadership of Professor Dr Nasreen Aslam Shah.
