Business Community observed shutter- down strike here on Wednesday. Al least 28 people were killed and over 132 injured in a bomb blast at a CNG station in the Civil Lines Area, here on Wednesday. Most of the shopping and commercial centres remained closed.
Police have arrested four persons during raids in Jhang and Faisalabad and said that useful information about terrorist and members of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi had been collected. Police also recovered remote control and five sims of mobiles. Leaders of trade organisations visited the place where bomb exploded and hospitals and presented flowers and gifts to the victims.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA) voiced its grave concerns over terrorist incident in the industrial city causing huge damage to lives and property. They urged the government to make foolproof arrangements to foil the nefarious designs of anti-social elements.
Chairman PTEA, Wasim Latif and Vice Chairman PTEA, Adil Manzoor Ellahi declared the blast a dreadful act and conspiracy by unscrupulous elements to spread panic among the people. They, on behalf of PTEA expressed their heartfelt sorrow and grief over the loss of innocent lives and prayed to Allah Almighty for the departed souls and condoled with the bereaved family members. PTEA leadership bemoaned the war against terror in the northern areas had already portrayed a gloomy picture world-wide and now this bomb blast has further faded the perception of Pakistan around the globe.
