The Karachi Port handled 136,736 tonnes of cargo including 81,215 tonnes of import cargo, 55,521 tonnes of export cargo and 7,172 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 81,215 tonnes comprised of 40,465 tonnes of containerised cargo; 22 tonnes of general cargo; 7,172 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,860 tonnes of canola seeds; 2,630 tonnes of rock phosphate; 1,682 tonnes of sulphur and 33,556 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 55,521 tonnes comprised of 39,333 tonnes of containerised cargo; 264 tonnes of general cargo; 10,424 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,373 tonnes of cement and 5,344 tonnes of wheat; 2,707 tonnes of rice and 5,500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Six ships namely Al-Shuwaikh, New Activity, Hyundai Freedom, Thana Bhum, YM Europe and Shayan-1 with general cargo, oil tanker and four container ships sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Seven vessels viz Wan Hai-603, Thana Bhum, Shayan-1, Aquila Voyager, India Express, APL Cyprine and Sorrelle carrying three container ships, bulk cargo, two container ships and oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths. Four ships namely Chemstar King, Tycoon-II, Wan Hai-603 and APL Cyprine carrying ethanol, rock phosphate and two container ships respectively expected to sail on Wednesday, while three ships namely India Express, Maersk Producer and Sorrelle with containers and two oil tankers respectively are expected to sail on Thursday.
Five vessels viz Adventure, Sky Dream, Lodestar Genesis, Tim-S and Cap George carrying jet oil, base oil, chemicals and two container ships respectively due to arrive on Wednesday, while four vessels viz Allgate, Ital Glamor, Violetta and CSL Ride with mogas and three container ships respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 60,315 tonnes of cargo includes 42,403 tonnes of import cargo, 17,912 tonnes of export cargo and 2,284 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours. The total import cargo of 42,403 tonnes includes 15,620 tonnes of diesel oil; 3,389 tonnes of urea; 7,794 tonnes of iron ore and 15,600 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 17,912 tonnes includes 2,984 tonnes of cement and 14,928 tonnes of containerised cargo. Three ships namely CV Ibn Asakir, CV UASC Shuwaikh and MT Al-Salam-II sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while two more ships namely MT Haina Golden and CV Nedlloyd Hudson are expected to sail on Wednesday afternoon.
A total number of ten vessels viz CV UASC Shuwaikh, CV Nedlloyd Hudson, CV Ibn Asakir, Hyang Ro Bong, MT Sound Future, MV Alfa Nourios, MV Saphire-II, Xin Xiang Hai, MT Haina Golden and MT Al-Salam-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, urea, iron ore and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Nine ships namely CGM Chopin, MSC Rafila, NYK Kia, Akaki, Al-Khalidia, Quetta, Four Nabucco, Niklos and Ikaruga carrying containers, furnace oil, rice, coal and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of five vessels viz CV MSC Rafila, CV Ikaruga, CV CGM Chopin, MT Quetta and MT Niklos scheduled to load/offload containers, furnace oil and coal respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, FOTCO Terminal and Iron Ore & Coal Berth respectively on Wednesday.
