A PPP delegation on Saturday met leader of opposition in the National Assembly, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and sought co-operation of PML-N in cancelling the expected boycott of President Asif Zardari's address to the joint session of the Parliament on March 22. The delegation met the opposition leader on the directives of Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani.
The delegation, led by Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Co-ordination Mian Raza Rabbani comprised Syed Naveed Qamar, Nazar Muhammad Gondal and Raja Pervez Ashraf. PML-N leaders Zahid Hamid and Sardar Ayaz Sadiq were also present. Reliable sources in PPP told Business Recorder that Chaudhry Nisar did not assure the PPP team of attending the President's address to joint session of the parliament.
However, he said the PML-N parliamentary party would take final decision in its meeting to be held on March 21. Earlier, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani telephoned Chaudhry Nisar and took him into confidence on the court decision about Raymond Davis.
He said the government accepted the court decision. He added that all parties unanimously agreed that the court judgement would be accepted on the issue of Raymond Davis. After meeting, Raza Rabbani told media that he took Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan into confidence on the Presidential address to the joint session of the Parliament on March 22. But Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan refused to talk to media.
