"Now that you are graduates this is the most critical time for life changing decisions. A new chapter is about to begin. A myriad of new challenges and options are on your horizons. This is the time to discover your destiny. You need a pioneer spirit in order to find new venues for your bright future. And remember future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. To me the luckiest is the one who makes his dreams come true, and ultimately leave behind... a legacy."
Chancellor Z.A. Nizami was addressing to the graduates on 14th Convocation of Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET) held at the Campus to award degrees to the passing outs of Batch 2007 in five disciplines - Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Civil Engineering and computer Science.
As many as 1,044 graduates of Batch 2007 of SSUET received their four-year BS degrees. Of the total graduates 451 received degrees in Electronics Engineering, 230 in Computer Engineering, 82 in Bio-Medical Engineering, 132 in Civil engineering and 48 in Computer Science, while remaining belonged to left over graduates of Batch 2006 besides recipients of MS Programme. Addressing the Convocation, SSUET Chancellor Z. A. Nizami said the SSUET, since its establishment in 1994 as legacy of great reformer and educationist Sir Syed Ahmed Khan has produced 9,000 graduate engineers in various disciplines and this number is going to cross 10,000 mark this year.
He said the University had collaboration with world famous universities like San-Jose and Johns Hopkins of USA and the University of Ottawa of Canada and has collaboration with three American and five leading British universities with students having the privilege of getting a degree from them, after studying in those universities for only two years.
Presenting the annual report, the VC Professor Doctor Saiyid Nazir Ahmed said, "These years have seen land mark achievements in the domain of Engineering education, abiding commitments to high academies, search for excellence and promotion of values. On the occasion, a total of 15 gold medals were presented to graduates securing first, second and third position.-PR
